How to redeem a Google Play gift card
A Google Play gift card adds balance to your Google account. You can spend it on apps, in-app purchases, subscriptions and other content on Google Play. Redeeming takes less than a minute.
On an Android phone or tablet
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon at the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Redeem code.
- Enter your code and tap Redeem.
On a computer
- Go to play.google.com/redeem and sign in with your Google account.
- Enter your code and click Redeem.
The balance is added to your Google Play account and used automatically at checkout.
If your code doesn't work
- Check for typos. Letters and numbers such as O and 0, or I and 1, are easy to mix up.
- Check the country. Google Play gift cards are country-specific. A card issued for one country can't be redeemed in an account set to another.
- Keep your receipt. If the code still doesn't work, contact the store you bought it from and have your order details ready.
Stay safe: never read out or send a gift card code to someone who contacts you and asks for it. Legitimate companies and government agencies don't ask to be paid with gift cards. Learn the warning signs.
